Payment went through without any trouble, but the confirmation email took a little while to come in. From the tone of the checkout page, I assumed everything was probably fine, and it was. My order was placed and the card charge looked correct, so not a big deal overall...

I went on nikonusa.com to download the newest firmware for my camera, and it was simpler than I expected. I was a little nervous because these updates always make me wonder if I’m going to mess something up or end up with some half-baked file, but the page was easy to find and the instructions were clear.

The download finished quickly, and the update worked on the first try. It probably took around 10 minutes total, and the camera restarted normally, which was a relief. I still had that small doubt in the back of my mind about whether the update actually installed cleanly, but nothing seemed off afterward.

Since updating, autofocus does feel a bit better and the menus seem slightly less sluggish. I’m not totally sure yet if it’s a major improvement or just me wanting to notice a difference, but I’m glad Nikon is still putting out updates and making the process fairly painless.

The battery life is actually decent for everyday use, and it usually lasts me long enough without much hassle. That said, once I start watching videos, it definitely drains faster than I expected. So overall it’s good, just maybe not as impressive if you use it for a lot of streaming.

I’ve used a few similar products in the past, and this one has been mostly fine so far. It does what I need it to do for the most part, with just a couple of minor things that could be better. Overall, I’m satisfied

The autofocus has been spot on for me. My Z6 locks onto eyes really fast, even when my kids are running around everywhere, and I’m getting way fewer blurry shots than I used to.

The video itself is sharp and the colors look really nice, so I’ll give it that. But I feel a bit misled because I expected the autofocus to be more reliable. It sometimes hunts back and forth, which can get distracting, especially when you’re trying to capture something smoothly.
